Super Brad's Pad

When The Bradley Lowery Foundation was established, I had always planned to help families with memory making short breaks.

Having a child who spends a lot of time in hospital is extremely hard. You are secluded and cut off from the outside world; I want to create a safe-haven that the whole family can enjoy and reconnect.

Often, when you have an unwell child, the family is separated with one parent being the main care-giver, and the other parent having to go to work or look after the other children.

After many meetings, it was decided that BLF would create a luxury holiday home so that families can spend time making memories, having fun and enjoying every moment together. I had a vision of how I wanted the holiday home to look, so after numerous meetings with Richard Marsden from BDN, we came up with a design fit for a king.

The holiday home will have:

  • 5 Accessible Double Bedrooms
  • Open Plan kitchen, dining, and living area
  • Enclosed garden
  • Hot Tub
  • Sensory Room and Teen Games Room
  • Adult sunroom with bar and pool table
  • Accessible lift from top to lower level

BLF are being supported by Merlin’s Magic Spaces who have offered to design and create the play rooms. Super Brad’s Pad will offer up to 10 people per visit, so that grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins can also enjoy being a part of the experience.

Families will be referred via 3rd party organisations and will be offered a stay on a need-by-need basis. Families will get the chance to stay either Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday. The home will host around 100 families per year.

Due to Covid restrictions, fundraising was paused, and the holiday build was put on hold. In 2021, restrictions were lifted, and we are putting everything into getting the build finished for a September 2026 completion.

If you can support in any way, including doing a fundraising event, giving a donation, offering materials or labour, then please get in touch as we would love to hear from you.
